About Us

The Scallywag has been successfully established as a paper magazine in Rossendale since 2006.

It's objective has been to be packed full of local news, reviews and features to make parents' lives easier.

However 2020 has impacted all our lives in ways we could never have foreseen so, for the time being at least, we are moving away from our printed version to go online.

The heart of the magazine has always been the diary pages, with a comprehensive list of things for parents to do with their pre-school children, plus all the clubs and societies suitable for primary school children. We used to have every swimming lesson, dance school, judo and football club listed along with contact names and numbers and it is our intention to retain that important aspect to our new online magazine but now we can make is searchable and more up to date.

We will also be continuing with our local family news, reviews of local days out with children, plenty of ideas, features and offers to make this site the new, indispensable guide for local families.
